The Scheme is a formal document which each LA is required to have in place and maintain on a website accessible to the public. The adoption of the Scheme, and any subsequent amendments, requires all maintained schools to be consulted and the agreement of the Schools Forum.
The Scheme sets out the financial relationship between the Authority and the maintained schools that it funds. It contains requirements relating to financial management and associated issues, which are binding on both the Authority and on the schools.
