Maintained schools must have at least one person with safer recruitment training on every panel, but schools can choose the provider for their safer recruitment training. There is no requirement for academy schools to have completed the training, however, it is good practice for appointment panel members to be appropriately trained, as set out in Keeping Children Safe in Education.

Schools can choose their safer recruitment provider.

The Key states that whilst it is not a requirement to repeat the training, it is good practice to review and refresh your knowledge every two to three years.
