Support staff on term-time contracts of 39 weeks (or more) per year include working on Professional Development (PD) days. The general principles of part-time support staff attending a proportion of PD days are useful, i.e. part-time support staff should attend an appropriate proportion of PD days. Individual discussion may be needed if a PD day falls on a non-working day, but is of particular importance as part of the school's CPD programme.

Support staff whose term-time contracts are for 38 weeks (or fewer) per year are not paid to attend PD days, but again, individual arrangements can be agreed.

As per green book 4.6 For school-based TTO employees, staff must be paid or granted time off in lieu if required to attend INSET training days if these days fall outside of their contracted hours.
