There is no fixed answer to this question – it depends very much on the particular MAT. It is very unlikely that all current academy trustees would become Board members of the MAT.
Many MATs will offer some representation for the joining school at Board level, but some do not. It is likely that trustees would continue to sit on the Local Governing Board of the school.
