The Multi Academy Trust will have a board of directors who will have ultimate responsibility for any academy operating within their MAT. This means the board of directors have the final say in any decisions that are made.  If any local governors are going to be on the board of directors, they must act in the best interest of the Trust and not for any individual academy.

Each Multi Academy Trust will delegate decisions differently so it is important to understand these before you join a Multi Academy Trust. Your own local governing body will still be an important part of your academy and they can play a key role to ensure your own schools autonomy.
